Facebook Page vs. Website: Importance and Benefits

Let’s say that tonight you have prepared everything for your business page, made a marketing plan for the products in stock set a budget for the sales posts, and went to sleep.

Wake up in the morning and see that your ad account is disabled or because of your mistake Facebook page advertisement is restricted.

If you are only dependent on Facebook and you have no position outside of it, then you will have no choice but to sit off your business.

According to statistics, about 7 lakh people in Bangladesh are doing business through Facebook page. Almost the majority of people are completely dependent on the Facebook page. At present, most entrepreneurs’ business is closed due to various problems including Facebook ad costing, and ad account disabled, maybe you are one of them reading this article.

At present, almost a large part of Bangladesh is becoming an entrepreneur using the online medium. But being a successful entrepreneur requires several things. Such as a plan, business materials, marketing, branding, etc. Irrespective of the plan and business tools, most of entrepreneurs prefer only Facebook boosting when it comes to marketing. As a result, Facebook dependency is created.

Being dependent on only one advertising platform can pose some major threats to your business at any time. Let’s find out what they can be like. Also, by not having a website, you are missing out on many great opportunities that can make your business more dynamic.

Problems that can arise if only Facebook is dependent:

1) Immediate advertising restrictions.

If advertising is restricted on your page for any reason or your ad account is disabled for policy violations, your marketing will be completely stopped. Your business will slow down until the issues are fixed. And if there is a permanent restriction, then the business will be completely closed. Besides, if the page is unpublished, it will not have the chance to sell organically. The result? Lost your long-time labor and money as well as the business.

2) Losing the entire free potential marketplace.

If we add a product on Facebook, we cannot find out who the potential buyers are. Maybe a potential buyer will message you after your ad goes to a lot of people. On the other hand, nowadays we search for whatever we need on Google. When you search for something on Google, many types of sources come in front of you. Maybe you are interested in buying a smartphone and that’s why you searched on Google with Buy mobile in low price.

Google shows you several websites like Bidistol, Daraz, Evaly, etc. just by searching. When you search on Google to buy a mobile, you as a potential buyer are looking for a reasonable product. And the websites that come to you are getting a potential buyer. And by doing proper SEO they get it absolutely free whereas like Facebook you have to spend equally. You can do low-cost marketing on Google to boost sales if you want.

3) Missing backup field.

If for some reason your Facebook page becomes unpublished or restricted, then the business is also stopped. Now if you have a website, your customers can easily communicate through the website even if the Facebook or Instagram page is closed. This does not affect your cell volume too much. Similarly, if your website is under maintenance or your server is down for some reason, your customers can contact you through social media. If you don’t have a website, you lose this backup field.

4) Freedom of expression.

For those who deal with multi-products or services, the website plays a major role in presenting all the products or services in an organized manner. Through a website, all types of your products or services have been added to just one line of address, and your customer can easily find and order the product he needs. By doing this, a customer may be interested in one product ad but later he may be interested in other products and this increases your sales volume. Besides, by integrating advanced features including order automation, and payment confirmation, your customers will also feel comfortable buying anything.

Not only an e-commerce or online store but also a website plays an important role in keeping all the information including portfolio, and company overview for your company business.

It is not the case that you should only create a website or if you have a website, you should not maintain a position on social media, basically, both mediums are complementary to each other. You can make proper use of all mediums to grow your business.

And if you want to work with a big initiative, you can use social media as a banner platform, focusing on the main area of the website. In this, even if there are campaigns on all other channels, the buyer will buy from only one channel.
